VASCULAR SURGERY
The Vascular Fellowship
consists of a clinical year which satisfies
the requirements of the American Board
of Surgery for certification in General
Vascular Surgery and includes a year
of clinical work at the VCU Medical Center
and a preferred second year of clinical
and research experience which can be
individualized. In the second year, the
fellow undertakes both clinical and laboratory
investigations under the direction of
the Division
of Vascular Surgery.
To apply please call Lita Tucker, Divisional Coordinator at 828-3211
VASCULAR RESEARCH
The
Division of Vascular Surgery has ongoing
basic science research programs which
provide an established role for the
fellow as well as the opportunity
for independent research.
This program
has been most attractive to individuals
who plan a career in academic
vascular surgery, or for whom extended
practical training (e.g., in noninvasive
vascular diagnosis) would be helpful.
We expect our applicant to have had
clinical experience in vascular surgery
during their general surgery residency,
and to provide two letters of recommendation,
one of which is from the Program Director
of their general surgery program.
