CLERKSHIPS | EVALUATION

Students are evaluated at the end of each rotation. Below are the grading criteria for the surgery rotation.

General Surgery (4 weeks) 30%
Subspecialty (2 weeks) 15%
Subspecialty (2 weeks) 15%
Writing Assignment (Case Report) 10%
Written Examination (NBME Shelf Exam) 15%
Oral Examination 15%

Conference Attendance
A total of 5% will be taken off of overall grade if you have not met the mandatory conference attendance criteria of 50% Grand Rounds and 90% Core Lectures for the 8 week period.

Your final Surgery grade is formulated as follows:

Honors (90% - 100%)
High Pass (85% - 89%)
Pass (70% - 84%)
Marginal (60% - 69%)
Fail (<60%)
